Lea Lyon is an award-winning watercolorist who has focused her talents on portraits of children and on children's book illustration. She captures her subjects with a sense of fun and immediacy. Lea has published three trade picture books, Say Something, by Peggy Moss, which won the Teachers' Choice Award from Learning Magazine and Playing War, by Kathy Beckwith, and Keep Your Ear on the Ball by Genevieve Petrillo, available August, 2007. Her illustration portfolio won awards twice at SCBWI National Conferences. Her paintings have appeared in numerous group gallery exhibits and hang in the permanent collection of the Sonoma Family Court offices in Santa Rosa, CA. Lea makes her home in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she paints commissioned portraits of children and pets from photographs that are mailed or emailed to her.
