Join us for a wonderful day on the San Francisco Bay to learn more about illustrating children's books. We will be inspired, pick up new tips and tricks, learn more about the industry, meet and reunite with other children's book illustrators, and have fun. Our portfolios will be viewed by art directors, editors, and agents.

Award winning children’s book illustrator and fine artist E. B. Lewis will lead a three-day illustration intensive for aspiring and experienced children’s book illustrators.

Topics covered include: Paginating the Manuscript, In Depth Critique, Dummy Book, Portfolio Design, Thumbnails, Research, Sequential Narrative, Photographing the Model, Character Development, Setting the Stage, Story Boarding, Page Layout and Design, and much much more!

This will be a small group, so lots of personal instruction.

ART CLASSES

Watercolor Painting - Marina Bay, Richmond, CA
Wednesday morning 9:30 - 11:30
$150 for 6 week session - ongoing.

Join children's book illustrator and painting teacher Lea Lyon to try watercolor painting for the first time or further your enjoyment of painting. Bring your own materials, or use the ones provided by the class for a material fee of $10. All levels welcome, from beginners to more advanced painters.

Lea will provide individual attention and instruction. Still life set-ups and landscape photos will be available, or paint from your imagination, your own photos, or Lea's rose garden and the San Francisco Bay outside the window.

Learn some new techniques and enhance your art, or just enjoy painting with a group of artists.

Join Lea Lyon, watercolor teacher and children's book illustrator, in the activity room at Cardinal Point at Marina Square in Alameda. Class is open to residents and non-resident seniors.

All levels welcome. Materials provided for watercolor, acrylic painting, and pastels.

Lea will demonstrate techniques and help artists with individual painting projects. Beginners will learn how to have fun with paint, and see that they don't have to be able to "draw a straight line."
